Ida Rsi Putra Manuaba




Agus Indra Udayana was born on 6 September 1969. He took diksa sanyasin and was renamed Ida Rsi Putra Manuaba on 28 October 2019. Since a decade, he has been actively engaged in promoting Gandhian values in Indonesia through his four ashrams in Bali based on the principles of non-violence, truth and humanitarianism.
He is disseminating Gandhian ideologies, particularly those relevant to the prevailing social concerns and has translated Gandhian writings into Indonesian language.
Padma Shri Agus Indra Udayana became one of the 141 figures honored to receive the Padma Awards 2020 in the Padma Shri category. Agus Indra Udayana (after Diksa Sanyasin on October 28, 2019, known as Ida Rsi Putra Manuaba), son of Guru Ketut Oka and Anak Agung Ayu Aryani from the Island of the Gods, is the only recipient of the highest award from the Indian government from the Southeast Asian region.
The award was given by the Goverment as Social Worker to Ida Rsi Putra Manuaba for his consistent contributions in the social and cultural fields through the promotion of Gandhian values in Bali through Ashram Gandhi Puri, located in Denpasar and Klungkung.
Agus Indra Udayana proactively works towards promoting Indian art and culture in Indonesia and has sought support of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations to promote Balinese culture in India.
Agus Indra Udayana maintains close contacts with the prominent Gandhian Institution and scholars in India. He regularly participates in social work activities in India, Indonesia and other parts of the world working in close co-ordination with the NGO’s promoting Gandhian values.

We can fly high when we remain connected to our roots and when we fly high; we will provide solutions to the entire world. While promoting our culture, we must ensure the work towards the progress of the country in our Social Action.”
