Maya Swati Devi was initiated into Tantrism of the Kaula lineage in India in 2000 by her first Guru Swami Anand Guptananda, after 20 months of Gurushishya Parampara in the Himalayas. From him, she received the spiritual name MĀYĀ SVĀTI DEVĪ : “she who in the form of the brightest star removes the veil of illusion and shows you reality.”
In 2007, after seven years of personal sadhana, as instructed by her Guruji, Maya chose to dedicate her life to serving Devi and spreading traditional Indian Tantrism in Italy and throughout the world.
She founded DEVI TANTRA YOGA in Milan, the first Italian school of Kaula and Śākta Indian Tantrism and traditional Tantric Yoga, recognized by Yoga Alliance.
In 2008, she met her second Master, Swami Shri Param Eswaran of the Śākta tantric lineage, “The Living Goddess Tradition.”
In Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India, Maya dedicated many months to study and training and was initiated into the Śākta lineage.
In 2009, she studied Sanskrit and Kashmiri Shaivaism with Professor Mark Dickzkowsky (author of “The Doctrine of Vibration” and professor of Sanskrit at the University of Benares, India) and organized several of his seminars in Milan.
In 2011, in India, under the guidance of Swami Shri Bhagawan, of the Trika Kaula lineage, she is certified as TANTRIC YOGA TEACHER 500 RYT Yoga Alliance.
In 2013, during the Mewar Holika Dahan festival held at the Udaipur City Palace, she received the Arvind Shahi (the royal saree and silver coins) from the Maharana of Udaipur, Arvind Singh Mewar, in recognition of her work in promoting Indian culture worldwide.
Maya is considered an ambassador of Indian culture in Italy and has received honors from the Indian Consulate in Milan, the Indian Embassy in Rome and India, the Indian Tourism Board INCREDIBLE INDIA, and the Italian Consulate at the Embassy in New Delhi.
Since 2007, Maya has dedicated herself to spreading the teachings of the Indian tantric tradition through her three-year, 200 RYT-certified Traditional Tantric Yoga Higher Education School, residential retreats in Italy and abroad, and organizing spiritual journeys and retreats in India.
She is one of the few Western Tantric Yoga Masters invited to hold workshops and retreats throughout India and to yoga festivals.
In India, she has taught Tantric Yoga in places of rare beauty: royal palaces, havelis, forts, heritage properties, and tantric temples. She has taught yoga to Bollywood celebrities and members of India’s most important royal families.
Since 2020, Maya is living and teaching between Italy, Greece, and India, organizing yoga retreats and trips to places rich in culture and spirituality.
Maya is constantly researching and evolving spiritually and dedicates most of her life to sadhana, tantric yoga, dance, and the study of sacred tantric texts.

LIFE STYLE: Maya has been vegan since the age of 20 and uses Ayurvedic remedies to maintain a healthy body and mind according to the principles of nature.
